A BURGLAR once described as “a one man crimewave” is back behind bars after admitting breaking into a house in Barrow and attacking a dad and his son.

Daniel Green, 32, will miss his own wedding when he returns to court to be sentenced on December 17 where he is set to be handed a significant jail sentence.

He is due to tie the knot to his partner - who is currently pregnant - at Abbey House Hotel in Barrow on December 20.

Preston Crown Court heard on Friday that Green is likely to receive a prison sentence “of some length”.

Green, of Longway in Barrow, appeared by video link to enter guilty pleas to charges of burglary, wounding and common assault.

On Saturday October 27, Green broke into a bungalow in Hawcoat at around 5.30am intending to steal.

He was disturbed by a father who tried to restrain him, but Green bit the man on his arm and hand.

The man’s son came to help his father, but he was also assaulted in the melee, the court heard.

Recorder Philip Parry told him: “I have seen your previous convictions and they are not going to do you any favours when I come to pass sentence.

“Having said that, the fact you have now pleaded guilty means you will receive a discount and a lower sentence that you would have received."

Green was the first in Barrow to be given an ASBO when he was 16.

By that age he had more than 70 convictions to his name and was described as “the most dangerous boy in Cumbria".

At the time he burgled the bungalow in October he was on licence after having recently being released from prison.

Recorder Parry adjourned sentence so Green’s victims could have the opportunity to make statements about how they have been affected by the incident.
