Five new reporters have proudly joined The Mail’s editorial team.

Charlie Fox, Ellis Butcher, Michael Thomas, Owen Keighley, and Alex Dungworth have joined The Mail’s chief reporter Amy Fenton and reporter Dan Taylor in getting to the heart of the stories most important to our communities.

And Adrian Mullen has become The Mail’s entertainment supremo.

Vanessa Sims, The Mail’s editor, pictured, said: “Our reporters are now based in the very communities they serve.

“This enables them to follow the issues that matter to our readers and give our wonderful towns and villages a voice.

“The Mail is as determined and passionate as it has ever been to fight and campaign for the communities we serve and the rights of our readers.

“If you have a story or an issue you would like us to look into then we want to hear from you.”

Commercially the Barrow business has also seen investment with the arrival of new field sales executive Kelly Rayner joining the team.

Ruth Davies, The Mail’s advertising manager said: “This is an exciting time to be involved in The Mail.

“We have never been in a better position to offer our commercial partners the best advertising solutions across digital and print to help them grow their businesses.”

Jonathan Lee, Newsquest Cumbria managing director said: “We are committed to providing the best possible coverage for our readers and the best possible advertising solutions for existing and new clients across Barrow, Ulverston and south Cumbria.

“Better use of technology also means our journalists and advertising sales staff are able to spend more time in the heart of the community covering and dealing with the issues which are most important to you, our readers and advertising clients.”
