Thousands of people have descended on Ulverston for the Dickensian Festival.
Hundreds of stalls were set up around the town centre to mark the start of the festive spirit.
Food, costume competitions, horse drawn carriages, music and dancing shows are on display.
The festival is one of the most popular events in the country and locals dressed up to celebrate all things Dickensian.
