Millom Coastguard Rescue team were called out Sunday afternoon to assist an elderly woman who had fallen on Silecroft beach.
She was assisted off the beach after ambulance crews struggled to get to her, forcing the team to step in at around 1.50pm.
It is suspected she suffered a fractured hip after losing her footing.
