The Urswick Rainbows have had the chance to get an important set of new books with money donated by the Furness Building Society.

After receiving the Furness Community Award, the Rainbows were donated the £150 by Furness Building Society which they used to pay for a set of new activity and badge books to help further the young girl's guide activities.

Margaret Thornley, leader of the Urswick Rainbows said: "I'm really glad we were able to secure this donation, I know it means a lot to the girls.

"With these new activity books we'll be able to let the girls complete activities on their own time such as knitting and cooking.

"The girls will also be able to gain more badges for themselves by completing this new set of activities.

"On behalf of the Rainbows I'd like to give a huge thanks to the Furness Building Society for the generous donation."
