Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) have launched a new service for adults suffering with insomnia.
The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia initiative is an eight week program run by First Step, a talking therapies service within the CPFT.
Those taking part will keep a sleep diary to help them identify positive and negative patterns in their sleep.
Sessions will also address worries and frustrations that could be keeping people awake.
Dr Richard Thwaites, Clinical Director for First Step said “recent evidence suggests that sleep interventions can reduce low mood and anxiety alongside improving quality of sleep."
People can be referred by their GP or can self-refer online through the CPFT website.
