1 Barrow Library is holding a free Teen Market for everyone to attend. The young people of Barrow are selling their own crafts that they’ve made to especially for the event. The craft stalls are open 11am-3pm in Barrow Library on Saturday.

2 Geek Gods in Ulverston is holding two back-to-back events in celebration of the release of the new Fantastic Beasts film, the much-anticipated sequel to the Harry Potter spin-off. The first event is tomorrow night and includes a pre-movie meet-up which will include wand making and other crafts from 5.30pm-7pm, with cosplay being optional. The following day, Barrow’s Owl Sanctuary will be at the store for the afternoon from 1.30 till 4.30.

3 Barrovian author and historian Gill Jepson will be hosting a book signing at Barrow market hall tomorrow. People are free to bring her books, which includes the Out of Time series as well as a string of books on Barrow’s history. People only need to come along to the Portland Walk entrance for the signing from 10.30am-2.30pm.

4 The Doremi exhibition is at the Nan Tait Centre in Barrow is coming into it’s final weekend. A variety of up and coming artists are on display at Art Gene in the centre to promote themselves. The exhibit is open from noon till 5pm, Thursday through Sunday and is free for all to attend.

5 Hawcoat Park in Barrow is holding a Christmas-themed arts and craft fair Sunday from 10am-3pm. All manner of arts and crafts will be on offer alongside a raffle and refreshments. Admissions are £1 and will include a drink.

6 Anew art exhibit is opening at the Dock Museum in Barrow. South Lakes Art Collective’s new Without Boundaries exhibit will include paintings, drawings, glass fused art, etchings, sculptures, ceramics, poetry and mixed media pieces. It follows 2017’s Horizons exhibit which was also set up by South Lakes.

7 The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness is holding a storytime event on Saturday. The event includes a reading of the Tale of Squirrel Nutkin and a chance for children to meet Peter Rabbit. The event starts at 11am and tickets can be booked on the World of Beatrix Potter’s website.

8 Kendal Mountain Festival is holding a Ghyll scramble on tomorrow and Saturday this weekend. Entry is £25 per person with a minimum of four people per group required and will include all equipment being provided. The event will involve climbing a Ghyll from the Sun Inn in Coniston, heading to admire waterfalls and jumping into plunge pools before heading back to dry off and enjoy films from the festival.

9 The Forum in Barrow is hosting a whiskey tasting event tomorrow night at 7.30. All guests will be treated to five hand picked whiskeys and a talk through various distilling and tasting talks. Tickets are £10 from the Forum website.

10 A quiz night at Grizebeck community hall is on tomorrow night. Entry is just £1 at the community hall for all and starts at 7.30pm.
