A BARROW charity are currently in need of new volunteers with a taste for cooking to help out at their centre.
Barrow Community kitchen are currently recruiting more cooking volunteers to help out at their base in Roosegate Community Centre.
The organisation offers a place for people to come if they have been sanctioned or are struggling financially or if they are feeling the impacts of social isolation.
Originally set up in 2015 by John Wright and Sharon Foden, the community kitchen has been a vital source of food and friendship for many people ever since.
They are also looking for more general volunteers to help with donation pick ups and to work around the centre.
They have asked that anyone interested in the positions to come to the centre for an informal chat on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 12-3pm or Sundays at 2.30-5pm.
