TIME is ticking to nominate the shining stars working across Bay hospitals and its community teams.

Deadlines for nominations in the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT)’s Health Heroes awards close on Friday.

The awards are a chance for the trust to formally recognise the talent and commitment of staff, volunteers, governors and fundraisers across its hospitals – Furness General Hospital, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital and its community teams.

The Trust is asking for the public’s help in nominating individuals or teams in each of the following nine categories: Excellence in Patient Safety; Outstanding Improvement in Patient Experience; Going the Extra Mile; Student/Trainee of the Year; Leader of the Year (winner picked by Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive); Innovation and Research Award; Inclusion and Diversity; Bay Health and Care Partners – Transformational Change and Team of the Year.

Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive, UHMBT, said: “These awards are our way of identifying colleagues from our workforce who deserve a special thank you for all they do and this is where we need your help to find them.”

The full nomination pack, including further information on the categories, can be found by clicking www.uhmb.nhs.uk/media-centre/your-health-heroes.
