A MEN'S clothing store has closed in Barrow.
Officers Club in Portland Walk closed its doors for the last time yesterday after six years in the town centre.
In a post on the shop's Facebook page yesterday staff said: "It is with great sadness that unfortunately today we have had to close down Officers Club Barrow store.
"I’d like to take this time to say a huge thank you to all of our customers that have been coming to us for over the past six years.
"I’d also like to thank our amazing team members past and present for their amazing work as this shop wouldn’t have been the same without you all."
The fashion chain retailer sells branded clothing aimed at men aged between 12 and 24.
The chain's website appears to be down with a message on the homepage stating: "The Clubhouse Is Being Refurbished. For any customer queries, please email us at cs@officersclub.com"
The business was founded in the 1990s in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, and latterly had its headquarters in Cramlington, Northumberland. There were over 150 stores across the country during the business's peak.
Over the last decade the chain has gone into administration on three occasions, the last being in 2016.
