DUDDON Valley Local History Group has released their findings on the Duddon Dig which has been ongoing for several years.
Chairman of the history group, Ken Day said: "We finished the dig in July and have been compiling our findings for several months.
"We made the discovery of Silverdale crockery from the 16th century on the site.
"Although the more interesting find on the site was a settlement that was carbon dated to the Bronze age, with a firepit and flooring for an old settlement still in place with some agricultural land.
"So it turned out whoever was using the site in the 16th century was actually using what amounted to brownfield land which we all found quite amusing."
The full list of findings from the Duddon Dig can be found on the historical group's website, with a book on the dig being published next summer.
