BARROW Society of Artists is staging its final show of the year with more than 30 new and original works all for sale.

Running at Ramsden Gallery within Home Images until November 24, featured artists are Faiqa Aslam, Mary and Alan Calvert, Carol Davies, Denny Derbyshire, Sheila Fleming, Cathy Holmes, Geoff Parkes, Andy Currie Scarr, Maggie Parkinson and Barbara and Bryn Trescatheric.

The vibrant display features around 35 pieces in various mediums and is one of region's must-see art exhibitions.

Home Images opened on Barrow's Duke Street in 1996 and specialises in high quality picture framing with fine art scanning and printing.

The gallery opened within its creative walls in June 2017. Its inaugural show was from talented local artist Lee Payne and during the past year or so Steve Cook - who who drives the gallery's exhibition programme - has staged a number of successful solo and collective exhibitions.

Steve, a painter himself, is keen to encourage more artists to showcase their work at Ramsden as well as exhibit work created in schools.

Barrow Society of Artists was founded in 1953, and has more than 60 members. Among its many activities and exhibitions it holds talks and demonstrations at the memorial hall in Hawcoat, and runs a monthly life drawing session between September and June.

Ramsden Gallery is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Telephone 01229-433500.
