COMING up for a four-night, fast-paced run of thrilling comedy action from November 20-23 (7.30pm) at the Coronation Hall, is Ulverston Outsiders The 39 Steps.

Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller, The 39 Steps, is brilliantly and hilariously recreated for the stage by Ulverston Outsiders, who follow the incredible adventures of handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women. Making her Outsiders' debut will be Hannah Fishwick. Originally from Northern Ireland, Hannah works as a children and families worker for the Church of England but previously worked as a primary school teacher in Manchester while enjoying performing and directing musicals and plays. Her first lead role was Audrey in a school performance of Little Shop of Horrors and from there she was hooked. At Durham University she set up a musical theatre society at her campus and produced two musical theatre showcases and Bad Girls the Musical (in which she also acted). In her final year she performed as Joanne in Rent the Musical and went to the Edinburgh Fringe with Batboy the Musical playing Meredith Parker.

Hannah made her directorial debut with A R Gurney’s play Sylvia while also directing a reimagined version of Grease the Musical set in 2017. Hannah taught both musical theatre and acting to children and youth and especially enjoyed writing scripts for end of term showcases.

It will be Hannah’s first performance with the well known Outsiders and she is really excited to be playing three very different characters with very distinct accents: Annabella, Pamela and Margaret.
