A NEW exhibition, Hiding in the Wood, opens next week at the Forestry Commission’s Grizedale Forest. Created by artist Shona Branigan, it explores her fascination with trees through creating original relief prints made by printing the wood itself. The prints give a glimpse into the usually unseen world and life stories of trees. Some of the work includes a yew tree which started life in 1822 and a 190-year-old oak tree, found fallen in the woodlands. By burning away the softer wood, the harder wood remains. Runs from November 14, 10am-3pm. Visit forestryengland.uk/grizedale.
