Millom Town Council has announced the town’s plans for Armistice Day, as the nation marks the passing of a century since the end of the first World War.
From 8.30am on November 11, a parade will assemble at the Pensioners’ Hall on Mainsgate Road.
The parade will start at 9.30am and people are invited to join at any stage ahead of the service at St George’s Church at 10am.
The parade will then go on to the cenotaph for wreath-laying.
After the parade, there will be a pie and pea lunch at Millom Palladium, followed by the singing of wartime songs.
At 2.30pm, the marchers will reassemble at the harbour in Haverigg to begin a march along Main Street to St Luke’s Church for a service.
The service will be followed by wreath-laying at the memorial, followed by afternoon tea at the Institute.
