1 The Skye Full of Stars Fashion Show is on Saturday. The show will be held at Beggars Theatre, Millom, from 7pm-11pm. Tickets cost £3-£5. The show will include a night of live entertainment and a raffle with a variety of prizes. The show is being held in memory of Skye Mitchell, a teenage girl from Millom who was killed in a car crash.

2 A marshalled horse ride is being held at Westmorland County Showground for any horse owners. The 12 mile ride begins at 10am and will cost £20. A lead rein ride will also be held at 11am on Sunday, this is a £15 entry and will be touring ash footpaths around the showground. Money from the ride will be donated to the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

3 Cartmel Antique Fair will be taking place Friday to Sunday with 18-20 different antique sellers with a variety of different items on sale. The fair will be taking place at Cartmel Village Hall from 10am-5.30pm. Admissions cost £1 and include free parking. Items on sale will include ceramics, coins, jewellery and much more.

4 Windermere Treetop Trek in Brockhole. The treks on offer are the one hour Mini trek which is aimed towards less confident climbers, while the full two-three hour Treetop Trek is aimed to give the full experience of swinging through the trees, ending in a 250 metre zip-line descent.

5 The Swing Commanders will be playing the Victoria Hall in Grange-over-Sands at 7pm on Saturday, with tickets costing £15. They will be playing a mixture of 40’s classics and 50’s jump jazz. Money raised during the event will be put towards the upkeep and promotion of Victoria Hall.

6 Barrow 6th Form College will be hosting the Furness Model Railway exhibition through Saturday and Sunday. The Furness Model Railway Club will exhibit more than 12 working model railway layouts, including the club’s own layout ‘Coppell’, featuring the updated and fully DDC operated fiddle yard holding over 70 trains. Opening times are 10am-5pm both days and admission prices are £5 for adults, £4 for seniors and £2.50 for children

7 Barrow Golf Club will be hosting a 60’s, 70’s and 80’s themed charity night to help raise money for Dementia patients on Friday night. The doors open at 7pm, tickets cost £10 and will include Pie and Peas at the venue. 8 A rum tasting evening with Paul Quinn is being held at the Forum in Barrow on Saturday. Attendees will get a chance to taste a wide variety of different rums and get an insight on how the spirit is made. Tickets cost £10 excluding a booking fee.

9 The Loft Bar at The Mill in Ulverston will be hosting its monthly Comedy Mill show on Friday. Doors open at 8pm and tickets can be booked online for £10 by searching for the Comedy Mill.

10 The Snail and The Whale live is being hosted at the Forum in Barrow, following the tales of a Snail’s trip around the world as seen through the eyes of a young girl, on Friday and Saturday. The show is suitable for anyone ages 4 and over, with tickets being available at The Forum’s website costing £11 plus a booking fee.
