ONCE again parks across South Cumbria were packed out on Saturday with runners ready to take on parkrun.

From regular runners to parkrun tourists, Barrow parkrun, Ford parkrun in Ulverston, Millom parkrun and Fell Foot parkrun at Newby Bridge played host to them all.

As the weather stayed dry, runners young and old put their best foot forward to enjoy a run or walk through South Cumbria’s beautiful parks.

Barrow parkrun winner was Ryan Everett of Leven Valley Athletics Club who finished in 17minutes and 25 seconds.

Ford parkrun winner was Leon Foster, a first time visitor from Leeds City Athletics Club, who finished in 19 minutes and 29 seconds.

Millom parkrun winner was Sarah Attwood, a first time visitor from York Knavesmire Harriers, who finished in 20 minutes and 46 seconds.

Fell Foot parkrun winner was James Michael Mulvany from Wesham Road Runners Athletics Club. He finished in 17 minutes and 52 seconds achieving a new personal best.

Participants do not need to run to take part in parkrun they can walk or even jog.
