BBC Children in Need is calling on schools across Cumbria to join the 2018 schools fundraising campaign.

Last year local schools raised more than£39,789, in support of the charity.

This year’s campaign invites pupils and teachers to help raise even more money to support disadvantaged children and young people right across the UK.

The free fundraising packs from BBC Children in Need and Twinkl will be tailored to the correct age group full of fundraising ideas, inspiration, tools, tips, and resources including 'Duggee Days' after teaming up with CBeebies show Hey Duggee to earn a Pudsey badge.

Primary schools are being encouraged to join The Big Spotacular and go spotty to help raise money for BBC Children in Need.

And secondary schools are being asked to ‘Do Your Thing’ for BBC Children in Need, channelling their passions, hobbies or fears to help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Claire Hoyle, Commercial Director of BBC Children in Need, said: "Last year, an amazing amount of funds were raised in Cumbria and this year we hope to encourage even more schools and nurseries across the UK to get involved. Children helping children really is a marvellous thing.”
