He is due to appear at Furness and District Magistrates Court on October 17.

Inspector, Jim Bailey, Said:

“We have been working hard to implement the new Neighbourhood policing guidelines issued by the College of Policing.

“Some of the key areas are engaging communities, solving problems and targeted activity.

“All three areas are vital for the delivery of neighbourhood policing, which is the bedrock of our service.

“All three of these areas have strongly featured in our week of action, and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to community policing.

“The Local Focus Hub based at Barrow Police Station also highlights the importance of the police working closely with partners.

“We will strive to deal with community issues quicker and for the long term.”

During the speed enforcement operation, 11 drivers were stopped.

Four tickets were issued on Iron Works Road, and seven issued on Abbey Road, outside Chequers Hotel in Dalton.

Patrols conducted their search of hotspots identified as areas of increased Anti-Social Behaviour to combat recent reports of disorder.

During the tour of duty officers conducted plain clothes patrols and checks of vehicles in the local area.

One driver was found to have no licence or insurance, resulting in the car being seized and the driver being reported.

Disruption patrols were sent around ‘The Bowl’ area of Barrow to combat disorderly motorbike riding.

Sergeant Sara Seath said: “This week was a fantastic opportunity for us to highlight to the public what our proactive team can now do.

“With the four extra officers dedicated to neighbourhood policing, it has made a big difference.

“We have had some brilliant results as a result of ongoing hard work and good policing.”

“Although we have called this week a ‘week of action’ this is the good work that our officers undertake on a daily basis.

“This week gave us the chance to show the public what we are doing to tackle some of the issues that they have raised to us.”
