As more than 70 per cent of the £1 million shares on offer for the Lakes Distillery have been sold in only a few days, there are more celebrations for the firm as its spirits have won prestigious awards.
The distillery’s gins and vodka liqueurs gained recognition from The Grocer Awards and The Global Distillery Masters.
The Lakes Gin Explorer outperformed Gordons, Whitley Neill and Bombay Sapphire among a range of gins to gain a silver award.
The Lakes Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur received a master award – the highest accolade possible in the Liqueur Masters from the Global Distillery Masters.
Dhavall Gandhi, the master distiller at The Lakes Distillery, said: "This is a great achievement for the team, and it highlights our focus on crafting high quality spirits.”
The Lakes Distillery, is offering the public £1million-worth of shares.
The money will be used to produce whisky for stock and invest in new warehousing and distribution facilities.
