CIVIC minded residents are being asked to don their rubber gloves, pick up a bin bag and get stuck in to clean up our communities.
Ford Park, in Ulverston, is calling on people to get involved in the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick.
This initiative, which is part of a UK-wide campaign, was launched to help fight back the scourge of litter in our towns and villages.
A group from the park have organised themselves, and will hold a litter pick around the park during the first week of July.
Suzanne Pender, chair of the Ford Park Trustees, said: "Ford Park Community Group is delighted to join in the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick. It fits perfectly with our core values as we try to promote a cleaner and greener environment, including supporting the plastic-free campaign and raising awareness about the dangers of litter.
"As a Green Flag status park, which we hope to achieve again this year, we are committed to the environment and the community in Ulverston. So, please do come along and join us at 9am on Friday 6 July."
To join in the Ford Park litter pick, please email suzanne.pender@ford-park.org.uk.
All equipment needed to take part in the litter pick will be provided.
