Barrow Raiders were able to sweep aside their Kingstone Press League One rivals Swinton in a 50-12 victory.

Loyal Raiders servants John Spoor and Phil Heighton turned on the club’s new floodlights.

Later that month the Raiders played South Wales Scorpions to 86-0.

In the month of May, Raiders coach Paul Crarey paid tribute to 29-year-old Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones, who tragically passes away after a game against London Skolars.

Barrovian student Emily Stirzaker was selected to play for England Universities, at rugby league, in Hungary.

Askam footballer Jake Brown was called up by England for the Cerebral Palsy World Championships in June.

During which he was able to score twice against Japan, ending the game 14-0.
