As the festive season unfolds, The Mail looks back at the school pantomimes and nativity plays from 1992.

As Christmas approached, children from Dane Ghyll School got into the spirit of the season with a collection of pantomime performances.

From Barrow to Flookburgh, they began donning fancy dress to bring a Christmas cracker full of fun and frolics.

The pupils of Flookburgh Primary School finished a three-night run of Dick Whittington that night as the curtain went up.

The cast included everyone from Dick and the Cat, to the musicians, dancers, rows of choir singers and the citizens of London.

At Barrow’s Dane Ghyll School there were several different productions.

They included the Pied Piper and a good old favourite – Cinderella.

Each of the shows also provided a beautiful selection of memorable scenes for readers to enjoy.

The children of Ormsgill’s St Pius X Primary School took part in their nativity play.

The performance included singing Christmas carols and homemade outfits.

The Yarlside School’s class of Years Five and Six pupils put on their performance of the Greatest Show on Earth. The pupils dressed up as clowns, acrobats, and dancers.
