IT WAS the sports day that brought every school to Furness.
In 2016, Ulverston Victoria High School claimed overall victory in the Furness Schools Athletics Association Championships.
Students from UVHS came out on top in both Year 9 and 10 to help the school take the overall crown at Furness Academy.
A strong day of competition saw youngsters use the full range of facilities on offer at the new track, which was still in its infancy when the championships were held last year.
Winning athletes in selected events will go forward to represent Furness at the Cumbria Schools Championships at Copeland Athletics Stadium on Saturday, June 11.
Ben Procter, of the Furness Schools Athletics Association, said: “We would like to thank all the staff and volunteers for helping to put on such a great event for the students.
“The students played their part and provided a fantastic display of athletics and we wish all the students who are selected the best of luck at the Cumbria Schools Athletics Championships.”
Year 8's joint winners were St Bernard and Dowdales on 134.
Year 9 an 10's winner was Ulverston.
