A STORY without music is a story not worth telling.

The popular and talented Barrow Shipyard Junior Band have become a stable of their community and collaborated with various other musical troops to cement their musical reputation in Barrow.

In 2013, the band and the brass band from Ormsgill Junior School both played at the South Cumbria Musical Festival.

In 2014, a concert held at Trinity Church in Barrow and organised by members of the Barrow Shipyard Junior Band and Barrow Steelworks Band which raised a total of £508.60 for the Barrow Food Bank.

Also, that year the band hit the big time with the release of its CD called Now That’s What I Call Junior Brass.

All money raised by its sales were used to help purchase instruments and uniforms.
