The Mail is revisiting some of those hard-hitting memories and events seen in our community.
In 2014, Barrow held the ABC Charity Fight Night at Abbey House where Steve Eilbeck fought Kristian Hackett in a boxing match.
In 2015, students from the Dojo Martial Arts Centre in Barrow competed in the South Tynside Open kickboxing competition.
Also, that year the Barrow Amateur Boxing Club welcomed British and European women’s boxing champion Stacey Copeland during a special visit where she showed her skills to the fighters. Also Barrow boxer Chrissy Niven promoted the national campaign #ThisGirlCan along with Jeff Moses of the Barrow Boxing Club.
