THE FORUM has seen many timeless tales brought to life by the actors and performers of Barrow.

In 2015, The Mail reported when the A590 Theatre Group put on their production of The King And I.

The cast included Christopher Barker playing the titular roles as The King.

Katie Boyd played the role of strong-willed, widowed schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens.

They were joined by Alfie Hool who played the crown prince Chulalongkorn, and Alex McCormack as Anne's son Louis Leonowens.

The play was the fifth musical composed by Richard Rodgers and dramatist Oscar Hammerstein II in 1951, and is based on the 1944 novel by Margaret Landon, 'Anna and the King of Siam'.

It has been transformed in thousands plays, films and books.

Performed at The Forum in Barrow on April 15, 2015, the Theatre Group captured the audience's praise with their rendition, as well as the musical numbers and acting performances.

Members of the A590 Theatre Group are still performing to this day and their shows have earned them praise from the public.

The light-hearted nature of the show and the enjoyment the act projected in their deliverance made the show memorable.
