YOUNGSTERS were able to let their imagination run wild as masks, cartoons and puppets emerged from a series of enjoyable Saturday morning sessions aimed at developing creative skills in Furness
The Mail, on Wednesday, February 5 in 2003, noted: “Children could not hide their joy at the first in a series of workshops at Forum 28.
“Youngsters, aged seven to 11, swapped Saturday morning television with a creative three-and-a-half hours of mask making at the Barrow arts complex.”
Promotions officer Joanne Marwood said: “The children had plenty of fun. It’s something creative for them to enjoy.
“It’s a chance for them to use their imagination and develop new skills.”
There was also to be a session at Forum 28 involving cartoon sketches and a puppet workshop.
The activity mornings were developed from a project started the previous year.
The article noted: “The series of workshops last year was a great success and organisers decided to repeat the idea.
“The fortnightly workshops are called the Saturday Mix.”
