Barrow Grammar School pupil Patrick Fairlamb set a new record for a youth of 42ft in the triple jump at the Lancashire County Athletics Championships at Kirby, Liverpool.

Seven new records were set by pupils at Risedale School's swimming gala at the Abbey Road Baths, Barrow. Eskdale House was the overall winner.
