A campaign was launched in Barrow for a crossing on a busy road near sheltered accommodation for the elderly at Seymour Court, facing Holker Street.
A semi-detached house in Pembroke Close, Barrow, was offered for sale at £147,000. A terraced house at Risedale Road, Barrow, could have been yours for £92,500.
A memorial garden for grieving parents was opened in the grounds of Barrow's Furness General Hospital. It was called the Bluebell Garden of Remembrance.
Pupils at Burlington CE Primary School, Kirkby, were joined by lambs, guinea pigs, hens and geese in their class as part of the school's maths week.

David Marcus and Bill Calvert played a chess marathon in the window of the Oxfam shop on Barrow's Dalton Road to raise funds for the international aid charity and Barrow Amateur Operatic Society — which was presenting the show Chess at Forum 28 in May.
A detached bungalow at Ireleth Road, Ireleth, was offered for sale at £105,000. A detached house at Romney Road, Dalton, was £90,000.
Thora Kavanagh retired as caretaker at Dalton's Our Lady's School after 38 years.
St James' CE Junior School, in Blake Street, was in the running for a Cumbria County Council technology in education award after faxing schools in America and Australia.

A four-year-old Suzuki Sports 50cc motorcycle was £45 from W. Milligan and Sons at the Foundry Road Garage, Millom. A five-year-old Vauxhall Victor Deluxe car was £365.
