Around 200 pupils from schools at Parkview, Alfred Barrow and Thorncliffe explored Barrow in a Wish You Were Here project based on the humanities and arts

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service vowed to recruit more women and people from minority backgrounds.

A total of £78,000 was agreed to build a proposed new Yarlside County Primary School at Barrow.

A bag of sugar was 7p and butter was 15p per pound at the Home and Colonial supermarket in Dalton Road, Barrow.

A semi-detached house on Roose Road, Barrow, was offered for sale at £3,600. A detached bungalow at the Promenade, Walney, could have been yours for £4,500.
