SOME of the fascinating brooches and coin hoards recently discovered in Cumbria and Lancashire will feature in a day of talks next month.

The 46th annual Archaeology Forum is being hosted by the Regional Heritage Centre at Lancaster University on Saturday, March 2.

Finds reported by the public to the Portable Antiquities Scheme will be described by Lydia Prosser.

Other talks include Roman archaeology at the Lanes, Carlisle and workers' housing in Manchester.

You can also find out from John Scott about the effect of Hadrian's wall being part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site.
