THE world of classic sports cars featured in an unusual display at a Furness post office back in 1996.
An article in The Mail, on October 2, noted: "Staff at Barrow post office, in Dalton Road, have marked the launch of a new set of stamps by launching their own exhibition.
"The post office is displaying miniature historic vehicles and car badges to coincide with the introduction of the new stamps — which show close-up details of five post-war sports cars."
On show was an extensive collection of bumper badges from motoring groups such as the The Civil Service Motoring Association, the Automobile Association and the MG Register.
