YOU might not have read in the Bible that the baby Jesus was born on a farm in Kirkby in 1993 — but it did make headlines in the Mail.
The newspaper provided a newsagents' A-board and a suitable poster to help youngsters with their nativity play at Burlington School in the village.
It said that the baby had been born at Cleasby's farm and the unusual announcement featured in the show called Good News, Good News.
The Mail, on December 15. noted: "They opened with a news vendor and a contents bill stand announcing the big event.
"The children devised their own script and music using local names and places."
