A terraced house in Market Street, Millom, was offered for sale at £128,500. A semi-detached house in Farm Street, Barrow, was £105,000.
Style and architecture guru Wayne Hemmingway stayed at Barrow's Chetwynde Hotel before a talk at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel on encouraging the growth of creative industries.
Dr Tim Leverton, group engineering director of JCB, was to give a presentation to Barrow engineers on progress with a project to produce the world's fastest diesel car.

There were revised plans for a supermarket on the site of Dalton's Roxy cinema. The new plan would keep the existing building but replace the 1930s facade with a modern frontage.
A semi-detached house at Stackwood Avenue, Barrow, was offered for sale at £35,000. A detached house at Croslands Park, Barrow, was £150,000.
Drummer Jevon Turner, of Oxford Street, Barrow, won The Mail's Junior Talent Competition at Forum 28. Sarah Braithwaite and Joanne Sneesby, of Rakesmoor Lane, were second with a duet.
50 YEARS AGO
You could get an upholstered lounge suite for £40 from branches of Stollers in Barrow, Millom and Ulverston.
It was suggested that houses subject to regular flooding in Haverigg, near Millom, could be pulled down and families rehoused. This formed part of the debate at a meeting involving Lancashire River Authority, Millom Council and Cumberland County Council.
A six-year-old Ford Popular car was £130 from motor dealers T. Brady and Sons, Barrow.
