ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (BASS LANE, SUMMERSEAT) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bass Lane, Summerseat - from its junction with Manchester Road for a distance of 400 metres in a westerly direction.
The reason for the proposed order is to enable works to be carried out on an underground BT structure to restore the service.
The alternative route will be via Manchester Road, Peel Brow, Bridge Street, Bolton Street, Bolton Road West, Longsight Road, Newcombe Road, Railway Street and Rowlands Road and vice versa.
The Order comes into operation on Thursday 02 November 2017 and shall remain in force for a period of up to one month, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately one night (21:00 hrs - 06:00 hrs). Dated 26 October 2017 Council Solicitor

From a point 180 metres north-west of the scheduled ancient monument known as "Affetside Cross" for a distance of435 metres measured in a south-easterly direction.
A copy of the draft 20mph Speed Limit Order, plans showing the roads and areas affected, a schedule of all streets included and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order and introducing the proposals may be inspected at the reception desk at the address below during normal office hours. Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to Traffic and Road Safety Services, 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury BL9 0EJ or by e-mail to traffic.calming@bury.gov.uk by 17th November 2017.
Furthermore: The Council intends to revoke The Metropolitan Borough of Bury ( Watling Street, Affetside, Bury ) (20mph Speed Limit) (Experimental) Order 2012 in its entirety in so much as it is fully superseded by the proposed order. Dated: 26°' October 2017
