ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (SAMPOOL, MILLSIDE, WITHERSTACK & ULPHA JUNCTIONS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A590 Trunk Road in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to enable the replacement of four cattle grids adjacent to the A590; to be carried out in safety.

(a) The Order will impose a 40 mph speed restriction on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:-

i. the westbound carriageway, from a point 580 metres before the Millside turn off, to a point 470 metres after the Millside turn off;
ii. the eastbound carriageway, from a point 470 metres before the Millside turn off, to a point 580 metres after the Millside turn off.

(b) The Order will ban all traffic movements between the A590 Trunk Road and local roads at Sampool, Millside, Witherstack and Ulpha;

The works are expected to take place over a continuous period starting at 0600 hours on Monday 16 October 2017 and ending at 1800 hours on Friday 27 October 2017. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A590 Trunk Road and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or winter maintenance vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
