THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (LINDALE BROW) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (LINDALE BROW) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) Intends to make an Order on the A590 Trunk Road in the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to enable resurfacing, road markings, kerbing, drainage, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.

(a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on the A590 eastbound carriageway, from the last point where the exit slip road to High Newton Junction leaves the carriageway, to the point where the A590 eastbound carriageway meets the Meathop Roundabout;

(b) The Order will ban all traffic from the following:

i. the A590 eastbound carriageway, from the last point where the exit slip road to High Newton Junction leaves the carriageway, to the point where the A590 eastbound carriageway meets the Meathop Roundabout;
ii. the eastbound entry slip road from High Newton Junction;
iii. the eastbound entry slip road from Low Newton Junction.

(c) The Order will ban all traffic from the layby adjacent to the A590 eastbound carriageway, located 400 metres east of Back O' the Fell Road.

Prohibitions (b) are expected to take place overnight between 2000 hours and 0600 hours starting on Monday 16 October 2017 and ending on Friday 20 October 2017. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed.
Restrictions (a) and (c) are expected to take place during a continuous period starting at 0930 hours on Monday 9 October 2017 and ending at 0600 hours on Tuesday 24 October 2017. However, work may start and continue on subsequent dates until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions on the A590 and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or winter maintenance vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
