ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (LOWERCROFT ROAD, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Lowercroft Road, Bury - between Ainsworth Road and Gisburn Drive The reason for the proposed order is to fecilitate carriageway resurfacing works. The alternative route will be via High Street, Walshaw Road, Harvey Street, Newbold Street and Ainsworth Road and vice-versa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 06 March 2017 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 4 weekends. Kenyon Street - West side from a point 5 metres south of Stead Street Ramsbottom for a distance of 16 metres in a southerly direction.
A copy of the Order (including the exemptions contained within it) which comes into operation on 24 February 2017, a plan showing the roads and area affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the reception desk at 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury, BL9 0EJ. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 24 February 2017 apply to the High Court for that purpose.
