Increase In Hackney Carriage And Private Hire Fees

Pursuant to Section 70(3) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury propose to increase the current fees charged in respect of licences for Hackney Carriage Vehicles, Private Hire Vehicles and Private Hire Operators. The proposed increases are shown below and will come into operation on the 13 May 2022, if no objections are made thereto.
Current Fees
Vehicles under 3 years old £229.00 (£173.00 plus £56.00) Vehicles over 3 years old £285.00 (£173.00 plus £112.00) Private Hire Operators 1-2 vehicles (One Year) £274.00 Private Hire Operators 3 or more vehicles (One Year £390.00 Private Hire Operators 1-2 vehicles (5 Year) £1334.00 Private Hire Operators 3 or more vehicles (5 Year) £1862.00
Proposed Fees
Vehicles under 3 years old £238.00 (£182.00 plus £56.00) Vehicles over 3 years old £294.00 (£182.00 plus £112.00) Private Hire Operators 1-2 vehicles (One Year) £288.00 Private Hire Operators 3 or more vehicles (One Year) £410.00 Private Hire Operators 1-2 vehicles (5 Year) £1401.00 Private Hire Operators 3 or more vehicles (5 Year) £1955.00
In accordance with the provisions of Section 70(3) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, objections may be made to the increases proposed in respect of Hackney Carriage Vehicles, Private Hire Vehicles and Private Hire Operators. Such objections stating the grounds of the objection must be made in writing and addressed to the Licensing Unit Manager, Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury, BL9 0EJ to be received no later than 28 days from the date this notice is published.
A copy of this Notice has been deposited in the Licensing Office where it is available for inspection between the hours of 9.30am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
