METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (CROSTONS RD/BOLTON ST AREA, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along the following roads in Bury:-

5) Waterloo St - Bolton Rd to Crostons Rd



6) Wood St - Victoria St to Crostons Rd



7) Wike St - Victoria St to Crostons Rd



8) TottingtonRd-WalshawRd to Crostons Rd



9) WalshawRd-Victoria St to TottingtonRd



10) Unnamed Side Street (Vauxhall Motors) - Crostons Rd to 30m east



11) Lower Woodhill Rd - Crostons Rd to 30m east



12) Bolton Rd - Bolton St to Victoria St



13) Olive St-full length



14) Crostons Rd - Bolton St to Webb St



15) Peel Way - Bolton St to Harvard Rd



The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. The alternative routes will be:-

1) Via Peel Way, Derby Way, Rochdale Rd & Angouleme Way & vice versa



2) Via Crostons Rd & Waterloo Street OR Bolton St Victoria St & Wood St 5) Via Bolton Rd, Victoria St & Wood St OR Bolton St, Peel Way, Bolton Rd 8 & 9) Via Fenton St, Newbold St, Ainsworth Rd & Bolton Rd



14) Via Bolton St, Peel Way & Bolton Rd

The main diversion routes are listed, however the works will be carried out in

phases, & other diversion routes will be signed as appropriate to suit works.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 07/02/22 and shall remain in force

for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of works is 12

weeks, overnight only approx. 20.00 - 02.00hrs.

of Waiting) and (Revocation) Order 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council propose to make the above named Order under sections 1, 2, 4 and Part JV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-Extension of No Waiting at Any time

The Council also intends to revoke The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Stand Lane, Radcliffe)(Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2011 in its entirety as the new proposed order will include the restrictions from that Order.

Details of the proposals are in the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within them) with plans showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders.
