Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Section 257 NOTICE OF PUBLIC LOCAL INQUIRY TO BE HELD AS A VIRTUAL EVENT Opening on TUESDAY 08 December 2020 at 10.00am Notice is hereby given that an Inspector will be appointed by The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to determine Allerdale Borough Council (Public Footpath 223003 Land off Strawberry How Road Cockermouth) Public Path Stopping Up Order (No. 1) 2019 The effect of the Order, if confirmed without modifications, will be to stop up that section of public footpath 223003 located within an open field to the north of Tom Rudd Beck and to the east of Bellbrigg Lonning in Cockermouth. It extends for a length of approximately 335m from a field gate adjacent to 36 Bellbrigg Lonning and extends easterly to a further field gate on the eastern boundary of the same field from Grid Reference 313050,530303 to 313371, 530267 as shown on the order map. An Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold an Inquiry to determine the Order, opening on the date shown above. The Inquiry will be held as a virtual event run by an Inspector in the normal way, but with the parties invited to join online, via Microsoft Teams or telephone. Anyone wishing to attend the inquiry, and/or (at the Inspector's discretion) give their views, must make that interest known to the Planning Inspectorate Case Officer as soon as possible prior to the Inquiry, either by email or telephone, after reading the Inquiry Attendance Information set out below. Inquiry Attendance Information To help the technology and logistics run smoothly, this event will be run with those parties who have registered an interest to speak, in particular the statutory parties who wish to take an active part in the proceedings and/or who previously made objections or representations when the Order was first advertised. Before deciding whether to take part in the Inquiry, please think carefully about the points you wish to make. All written submissions will be taken into account by the Inspector and re-stating the same points will not add additional weight to them. If you feel that taking part in the Inquiry is right for you, you can participate in a number of ways: To take part using video, participants will be invited to join the inquiry via a (free) link through Microsoft Teams (via an app or web browser). If you wish to take an active part in the proceedings, please make clear in your response whether you wish only to appear at the Inquiry and make a statement, or whether you would also wish to ask questions of those who are presenting an alternative view. If you want to take an active part but feel unable to for any reason, and/or the points you want to make are not covered in the evidence of others, consider whether someone else could raise them on your behalf.
