THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C503I HARD KNOTTS LANE AND ULVERSTON ROAD) (LEECE TO GLEASTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria County Council to carry out carriageway patching works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along that section of the C5031, Hard Knotts Lane and Ulverston Road (Leece to Gleaston), from the junction with Hard Knotts Lane and the C5052 in Leece, extending in a north easterly direction onto Ulverston Road for a total distance of approx. 2km, towards Gleaston. A suitable alternative route will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C503I Hard Knotts Lane and Ulverston Road, C5032, A5087 Coast Road, C5052 Long Lane and Kiln Lane and the C5052.
N.B. Vehicular access/egress to/from the restricted length will be made available for residents when it is deemed safe to do so, by the contractors on site.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency personnel and emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and
4. Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 7 days and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
