PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER -TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14 THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH 105, BURY) (DIVERSION) ORDER 2020 The above Order was made on 09/07/20 under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
The effect of the Order will be to divert the southern part of Public Footpath 105 Bury running adjacent to the river Irwell between St Gabriel's High School, Bridge Rd and Derby High School, Openshaw Fold Rd to create an alternate section of footpath accommodating new flood defences as shown on the Order map.

The effect of the Order will be to divert the existing non-definitive footpath which commences at Warth Rd and travels in a south westerly direction for 250m to the embankment of the River Irwell to accommodate new flood defences as shown on the Order map.
A copy of the above Orders and the Order maps may be inspected at the reception desk at Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW from 9am to 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays and one copy of the Order and map will be made available free of charge. Any representations about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to the Head of Engineering, 3 Knowsley Place, Duke St, Bury BL9 0EJ or preferably by email to

no later than 07/09/20 stating grounds on which it is made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if so made are withdrawn, the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
