ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (KAY STREET BRIDGE, SUMMERSEAT, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2019 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles, cycles or horses from proceeding along:-

Kay Street Bridge, Summerseat, Bury - bridge over the River Irwell between Waterside Road and Kay Street.

The reason for the proposed order is to enable contractors to carry out remedial works on a bridge damaged by flooding.

The alternative route will be via Manchester Road, Bury New Road, Bridge Street,

Bolton Street, Bolton Road West and Longsight Road and vice-versa.

The Order comes into operation on Thursday 21 November 2019 and shall remain in

force for a period of up to 18 months.

A copy of the Order (including the exemptions contained in it) which comes into operation on 22 November 2019 and a statement of the Councirs reasons for making the Order may be inspected at 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury BL9 0EJ. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks of 22 November 2019 apply to the High Court for that purpose.
