MARKES George (Ex Royal Signals (23895049) 1962-1971) Electrician in VSEL/BAE, born in the Parish of St. George in the Island of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) in the Colony of St. Christopher Nevis Anguilla on 11.3.1944. Much loved soulmate of Sue. Proud father of Gareth and loving grandfather. Went to sleep peacefully on Wednesday 27th November 2019 in Sue's arms after a battle with Prostate Cancer. Friends please meet for a service on Wednesday 11th December at 1.30pm at St George's Church, Barrow, prior to cremation at Thorncliffe Crematorium. (Smart casual dress - black preferred). Family flowers only please, donations to Prostate Cancer UK, may be left at the service or sent c/o Little & Caine, 1-3 Dalkeith Street, Barrow. Tel: 820747.

A dear friend and confidante, taught me the ways of the world when I was his apprentice for a few years in the 80's, I will miss him dearly and our often hour long chats when we met, in the middle of town his wisdom and wit were boundless. I cannot imagine a world without him in it he will be sorely missed by many
