REDHEAD Arthur Riding Passed away peacefully at Hollow Oak Nursing Home on 13th August 2019 aged 81 years. Formerly of Lumley Street. He will be dearly missed by all his family. Please meet for a service of celebration at The Trevelyan Chapel, Dalkeith Street, Barrow on Tuesday 20th August at 1.00pm. Family flowers only please. All enquiries to Little & Caine, 48 Ulverston Road, Dalton. Tel: 462564.

Life dealt you a bad hand dad, but you carried on. The loss of 2 very strong women in your life, your mum then your wife. Both within a few years of each other. You picked yourself up and carried on until fate dealt you another cruel hand, the loss of your best mate, your son. Thankfully you had another special woman in your life Rose, who was there to support you. And although that awful disease dementia stole you away from us, it meant you weren't aware that Rose too had been taken from you.
No man should have to go through the pain of loss like you did so many times. Its now time for others to feel the pain of loss, but I for one see your passing as a blessing......your at peace after 4 long years of frustration, helplessness and the loss of your independence. I'll miss you, but I'll get comfort from knowing your back with the special ladies in your life and no doubt tinkering with engines with Mike again.

Sleep tight dad, dementia has no hold over you now.
