A new plaque was unveiled in Millom by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria Norman Thompson.
The new dedication was revealed at the WW1 Civic War Memorial and is dedicated to those who have lost their lives in conflict since 1945 - the end of the Second World War.
Representatives of the town, along with representatives from The Royal British Legion and various cadet units, were in attendance on Saturday.
This included a member of Millom Coastguard Rescue - the water and mud rescue team that covers the West Cumbrian coastline.
A spokesperson said: "We received an invitation from the town council clerk if we would like to send a representative. We were happy to do as it was a significant occasion.
"It was a very humbling, and moving, experience listening to all of the conflicts which have taken place since the end of WW2.
"It was good to see many veterans in attendance. It showed just how many people from our town have been involved in the armed services over the years."
