The organisers of a weekly Ulverston running event are doing their best to navigate changing weather patterns.
The team at Ford Parkrun spoke on Monday about how this winter has been the wettest in a century and how this has directly impacted their enterprise.
As a result of an increased frequency in rain, their runs have already been cancelled six times this year alone.
The organisers said: "Although it has been sunny for a few days we need to be realistic about more rain and potential cancellations, so we've created a cancellation policy that will remove some of the element of doubt about whether Ford parkrun will go ahead each week.
"Every Wednesday a member of the core team will assess the course and we'll look also at the weather expected before Saturday - this gives everyone enough time to make alternative arrangements in case of cancellation and prevents wasted effort by any volunteers."
