A LOCAL amateur dramatic society are preparing for their next production after receiving North West awards for their last show.
Ulverston Outsiders scooped several NODA awards with their comedy-drama production of Bothered and Bewildered – based on Gail Young’s book about daughters coming to terms with their mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
Pat Timewell scooped the best director of a drama award, Ann Thomson won best leading female character in a drama, Hannah Fishwick earned the best support female character in a drama award and Ulverston Outsiders scooped the award for overall best drama.
Society Members are now busy preparing for their next production, a very funny comedy written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman entitled ‘A Bunch of Amateurs’.
The show is based around a Hollywood agent who tricks one of his clients into playing King Lear in an amateur charity production in England.
It will run from April 9 – 12 at the Coronation Hall in Ulverston.
